Should failing emirati students pay for college? (Argument essay)

Some students have a serious problem with studying at college. A lot of people think that failing students have to pay for their education. This essay will examine the arguments for and against this idea .

Paying for unsuccessful students can be supported on many grounds. There are several reasons why failing students have to pay. One of these reasons is government budget. Government will lose a lot of money for students if they fail every year. For example, ministry of education can get money from these students as tax to encourage them to study. Another reason is a new student’s seat. Students who cannot succeed well in their study take the place for new students to entire college. For instance, students who repeat the foundation year can prevent recent secondary school graduates to join university. Performance is classified as one of the reasons. Failing students can affect the performance of others in the class. For example, students who are not concerned about studying will change others mind to be like them. These are some thoughts of people towards failing students.

However, many people are strongly against this idea. There are many aspects of this problem. One aspect is the teaching style. Students think that the teaching style plays an important role and it is not their fault. For example, some instructors cannot teach the idea of a lesson so students cannot succeed. Another point is the number of Emirati students. People think that this country is starting to develop in education and they need Emirati students to study at colleges. For instance, the government has to encourage students to study not to scare them by paying or taking tax from them. One more idea is college. College has to know the skills for each student to classify them in the specific class to avoid failures and payment. From my experience, I was studying at the Petroleum Institute At first year they let me attend the class for Foundation 2 and my English was not good- so I failed in the first year. These were some points against paying.

People are divided into two sides on this issue. The first group confirms the idea. The other side rejects the idea of paying. In my point of view, colleges have to think again about the reason of failing before making students pay. This problem is too great to ignore. Moreover, this issue can affect Emirati students in the future.

The loss of Emirati Identity

Egyptian, British, Italian, Emirati or any another nationality can lose some of their identity. Identity is culture and heritage for specific tribes or groups of people. This essay will be focused on the loss of Emirati identity. The following paragraphs will discuss the problems and solutions for Emirati identity.
There are some for going a little bit away from culture and their heritage. The first problem is that the world has become a small village. This trouble means that the Emirati has become affected by other people ideas or cultures. For example, the Internet is the best way to connect, communicate and share with other beliefs and ideas. However, it also influences us and our identity in a negative way. Junk food is a second issue. Cafeteria, restaurant or cafĂ© are the first place for eating. National food is be less concerned of some people. This problem related to long hours of works now more than past. For example, I start my class in the college at 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. So, canteen is an only place to provide my body with food. Third difficulty is family. Parents have learned their children about UAE culture and heritage. For that children or young people don’t know enough information about their country. For instance, if family doesn’t talk about their journey in desert and sea they will not know about the origin of their country.
This paragraph will try to list some solution for these three troubles. Solution for first problem is so simple. Let young people to communicate more with people from their environment than computer people. This means that strengthen relationship ties with Emirati people will maintain Emirati identity. Finally, solution for junk food is to let people always think that fast food only let you still alive. The best is home food. Third solution is easy to solve. Spend some of an old people in the family to talk about the experience and provide their children information to enhance their identity.
To conclude, most Emirati people doesn’t lose their identity as same as people think. In my opinion, all nationality around world loses some of their identity. In contrast, I’m sure of that nobody loses all of his\her identity towards his\her country.
